Adrenalin can be a difficult sensation. On a day that I have a performance in the evening, and its been months since my band has played live and we've practiced a bunch of new songs, my adrenalin rush starts early in the day. So, early in the day, I lose track of taking care of my body. My body begins sending me mixed signals, it desperately wants food, and then, it wants nothing to do with food. So, that, by the time my band gets on stage, past midnight, I've mostly ingested drinks, because they go down smooth and cool and my body is sure that it wants THAT. So, finally I'm on stage and I'm drunk, and I have all these new songs to remember. Between adrenalin and beers, it all becomes a blur, and I just do the best I can and have a lot of fun. Which I did with The Ovulators last night at Luckey's.
Now that my body has been fed and rested, and I know what I'm wearing, I'm happy to have a little more calm for this day time gig on the Library Stage. New songs to be repeated, but a bit more grounded.
